Professional biography

Yaw Sampene Buadu is a postgraduate researcher in the School of Computing and Communications at the Open University, UK. Yaw is also a systems and software engineer with experience in the development of web and mobile applications with over 7 years of professional expreience in that field. He has a keen interest in online learning technologies and a special interest in online learning, motivating his current research into the technical and social challenges of web conferencing.

Research interests

Yaw's research interests are primarily in software technologies for online learning. His current PhD project is titled "Web Conferencing; The Technical and Social Challenges". 

He is interested in the following areas:

  • Engagement in webconferencing
  • Webcams use in web conferencing tools
  • Social Presence
