My professional background is within Early Help services as both practitioner and strategic leader. I have enjoyed almost 20 years working in the statutory, voluntary and private sector with the 0 - 19 age range.
I am currently a Staff Tutor for the Open University with line management responsibility for Associate Lecturers.
I am currently studying for a Doctorate in Education, researching the characteristics of child-centred practice within Early Help workforces.
Since moving to the world of academia 6 years ago, I have led courses for Family and Community Studies and Special Educational Needs and Disability. My teaching interests include safeguarding and well-being, community studies and educational inclusion. I continue to teach for module E102, An Introduction to Childhood Studies and Child Psychology.
