My background is in forensic biology and analytical chemistry.

Research interests

I am interested in organic and microbial contamination control within the aerospace industry and how it relates to Planetary Protection.

My PhD project investigates measurement of Organo-silicone and organic contamination in cleanrooms in which spacecraft manufacture take place. It will be considering the following:

  1. Creating a database: cataloguing background volatiles, semi volatiles and surface compounds
  2. Minimising Contamination Events: Investigating Silicon adhesive contamination via contact, migration, and airborne transfer)
  3. Reacting to Real-Time events: Evaluating the risk of silicone contamination during spacecraft manufacture.
