On day three of Open Research Week, our second talk of our citizen science showcase is about biodiversity.

Open research is at at the heart of iSpot and how it has been developed and implemented. iSpot provides a platform that is open and accessible to all; this acknowledges the important role and contribution of citizen scientists to open science and is aligned with the practices, methods and principles of citizen science and the role it plays in society.

iSpot is an OU award-winning citizen science platform for biodiversity. This webinar will share highlights from iSpot’s rich biological recording data set, online community engagement and activity posting observations and species identification. Examples of teaching will be shared as well as contributions to research and society, in the UK and globally.
