Dr. Pinar Karagoz is a Lecturer in Sustainability and Smart Environment at the School of Engineering & Innovation. She joined the OU in 2022. With a strong academic foundation and over 15 years of experience in environmental engineering, Dr. Karagoz specializes in waste valorisation, water treatment, and the sustainable production of green chemicals. Before her current role, she worked as Postdoctoral researcher at University College London and Aston University. She is passionate about finding solutions to environmental challenges through biotechnological methods. Dr. Karagoz is also committed to mentoring postgraduate students and dedicated to supporting young scientists' growth and success.
