Throughout July, we have been raising awareness of the diversity of Milton Keynes, home of The Open University, through our Year of Mygration. The Open University was founded on a social justice mission to be open to people, places, methods and ideas, and almost fifty years later, that social justice mission remains at the centre of all we do. We are proud that our main campus is based in such a multicultural, diverse and inclusive town. Today we raise awareness of the services available to members of the Polish community living and working in Milton Keynes.
The Polish British Integration Centre (PBIC) in cooperation with MK Project and support from MK Community Foundation, offers free and impartial bilingual information and advice on housing, social benefits, welfare, child and adult education, healthcare and crime prevention. They also offer a bilingual career advice service. The overall aim is to support the integration of Central and Eastern Europe migrants into the local community.
