Day 153, Year of #Mygration: OU Brexit Hub

Brexit Hub Logo

Today we look at The Open University's work on Brexit, as part of the OU’s unique mission to make free learning materials for a global audience. Dr Peter Wood introduces the OU’s Brexit Hub, which brings together research and learning materials from across the OU, including the role of immigration in Brexit. Brexit is about more than leaving the EU. At The Open University, we are producing ground breaking research on how the UK got to this point, what Brexit actually means, and what might happen next, including for migration.

It’s the world’s largest collection of free, online learning materials on Brexit, designed for anyone looking for an independent and unbiased source of knowledge. The collection of academic and industry voices is designed to help learners understand Britain’s changing relationship with the European Union and the wider world. Its analysis of culture, politics, welfare, law, environment and business is an invaluable resource for university students, schools, and for the general public. You can find the overall collection here on the Brexit Hub but, here is a taster of the range of articles, courses and videos you can access through the OpenLearn site.

From Brexit to the break-up of Britain? A course that sets out the experience of Brexit in the context of the UK. It first analyses Brexit as a symptom of the political, economic and social geography of the UK, focusing on its uneven development in a country increasingly dominated by London and the South East of England.

Approaching the break up of Britain A course that asks - ‘What does the geography of the referendum vote tell us about the (increasingly dis-) United Kingdom?’
