"Different Pasts, Shared Futures" - this is the motto of Refugee Week, which starts today. The week is curated by Counterpoints Arts, an OU partner, who we have collaborated with for the past two years on Tate Exchange. Events include film screenings, dance, music, workshops and talks across the UK. Counterpoints are a leading UK charity supporting, producing and promoting arts by and about migrants and refugees, seeking to ensure that their contributions are recognised and welcomed within British arts, history and culture.
Now celebrating its 20th Anniversary, Refugee Week is:
A UK-wide programme of arts, cultural and educational events and activities that celebrates the contribution of refugees to the UK and promotes better understanding of why people seek sanctuary. Anyone can take part by organising, attending or taking part in activities.

The OU is also celebrating with a series of events open to all.
